Family 4th Weekend

Last Wednesday, we made a trip to my Dad and Kristin's house in Fredericksburg to celebrate Independence Day and then we all went to a family reunion in Concan over the weekend.  We had a really nice time spending some time in Fredericksburg before the reunion - it's been a favorite town of mine since I was a young girl.

We took lots of picture so I thought we'd share a few of the best ones...

Do we have a future pianist on our hands?  Maybe so!  Parker had fun playing on Granny's piano - he loves music.  We plan on having Parker take piano lessons down the road.

The picture below is my new favorite of my two handsome boys - they are having tons of fun and Parker is so happy!
Parker got to ride around on the mower with Grandpa - he enjoys mowers and tractors. No cutting necessary, he just likes to go for a ride.

Playtime in the backyard.  In case you are wondering, Parker is wearing a "Lederhosen".  It was a gift from Granny and Grandpa.  It's a traditional German outfit - doesn't he look like a sweet German boy?!

From the world of "what a difference a year makes" - here is Parker last year and this year on the 4th! Our 4 1/2 month old last year is almost 17 months old.

A few  patriotic pictures of our all American family!

Parker and his Granny ready to celebrate.
Parker had fun playing with the washer game in the backyard.  He would put the washers in the whole and take them out and then start over.

Onto the Family Reunion.  We arrived there on Friday afternoon and came back home Monday.  We had a smaller crowd this year - almost 20, but it was still lots of fun.  We all sleep and eat in one big house so it makes for a fun family time.

Outside by the fire pit - this boy sure does love his Dada.

Parker and Mommy blowing bubbles.

Parker's first swim in the Frio River - we didn't stay too long.  Just enough to get wet and splash around a little bit, but we had fun! It was very refreshing too.

Oh how I love this sweet, sweet face.

Playing in the sink and peek-a-boo with the kitchen curtains.

Despite the heat, we managed to have a great time!  Parker is at a very adventurous stage of life so he loves to explore and has to be watched like a hawk so he kept us on our toes - but he had a ball!

We love travelling together as a family and something I can't wait to do more of in the future.  Parker does so well in the car so we are blessed.  John and I did a lot of traveling pre-Parker so we look forward to many road trips and vacation adventures together.

Until we meet again...
