What a Difference a Year Makes

A year ago today (on a Thursday), I was being wheeled into surgery to have an endometrial polyp and endometriosis removed. Luckily, everything went very smoothly and I recovered nicely. Nice months later, almost to the day, John and I were sitting in my doctor's office (awesome Dr. Potter) discussing our options due to the fact that I still wasn't pregnant since having the surgery. Bascially, our next step was some type of fertility drug or treatment. We had a lot of questions and concerns about that and needed time to think and pray. She put no pressure on us, but just said to call when we've decided what we want to do and how we want to move forward. We decided that we just weren't sure that we wanted to go that route and decided to leave it in the Lord's hands and let His will be done. Exactly 20 days later, I took a pregnancy test and it was positive. Praise be to God!

So here we are, one year since my surgery - 19 weeks pregnant and expecting a precious baby boy, Parker Holt. What a difference a year makes!

On another note, our Texas Rangers are headed back to the ALCS (American League Championship Series)!! Only this year, the stinky Yankees are out and we will face the Detriot Tigers. Games 1 is here at Rangers Ballpark tomorrow - hooray!! Let's beat those Tigers and make another trip to the WORLD SERIES!!

Another look back at this time last year...John and I were fortunate enough to get to go to Game 1 of the ALCS last year thanks to some amazing tickets behind home plate that I received from a client. Sadly, the Rangers lost in heartbreaking fashion, but it was such a fun, memorable night.

We also have to mention that our Cardinals are playing Game 5 of the NLDS (National League Divisional Series) tonight against the Phillies - DO or DIE! If they win, they will move on to the NLCS. Could you imagine a Rangers vs Cardinals World Series?! It would be fantastic and we would be happy with either winner.

We took a wonderful trip to St. Louis a few years back. Here's a picture of us at the game.

Here's to a great baseball and football watching weekend and celebrating where we have come since this time last year.

Until we meet again...
Riley
