Two Months Old

Image
Parker Holt, you are two months old!  You went from this newborn baby...   To this one month old...   To this two month old... My two favorites this month with your precious smile! As of April 24th, you weigh 9 pounds - 15 ounces and are 22 1/2 " long.  We found that out at your 2 month well visit today.  You Dr. appointment went really well and he said you look fantastic.  You will go back on June 26th for your 4 month check-up and shots.  You were a champ with your shots.  You did cry, but you were just  fine afterwards and took a good nap.  Mommy on the other hand had a hard time watching you get your shots.  I know they are for your own good, but hard to see you hurting.      You are now wearing size 1 diapers.  Sadly, you have outgrown your newborn clothing and are wearing mostly size 0-3 months or 3 month clothing these days.  Very soon, Mommy will be packing up our favorite newborn onesies,

Will You Marry Me? ~ 10 Years Later

10 years ago today (April 16, 2002) we had the joy of saying "We're ENGAGED"! Oh happy day! I remember that day well and it holds a special place in our hearts. One thing we've always done from the beginning of our relationship, and still to this day, is celebrate all of the special and memorable moments in our life together. So today we are celebrating the fact that 10 years ago I said "Yes" when John asked me to marry him and thus began our journey to become husband and wife about 10 months later. We were engaged only 3 months after we met, but when you know, you know...and here we are married now for 9 years and know that the best is yet to come! In about 10 months we will be celebrating a decade of marriage. I can’t wait. Thank you for asking me to marry you John. As I tell you often, I love being Mrs. Ussery! Until we meet again... Riley

Easter Weekend

We had a great weekend! Friday afternoon was the start of baseball season for the Rangers and they were victorious. We watched the game with Parker and I in the living room and John in his office. This was Parker's first time to sport one of his many Texas Rangers onesies. Parker has this same onesie for the Razorbacks as a gift from Grandma and Grandad. Friday night, we ran a few shopping errands and picked up BBQ for dinner on our way home. This was our first time out as a family of three to take Parker anywhere. For the past 6 weeks, we have been taking turns doing the shopping and running errands so as not to get Parker out and expose him to any yuckiness and germs for the first few weeks of his life. Saturday, John did a lot of work outside in the yard and I tended to various household duties while taking care of the P-man inside. Saturday night, John grilled hot dogs and we had hot dogs, nachos and dessert pizza for dinner while we watched the Rangers and played cards.
