Drumroll Please...

IT'S A BOY! We are extremely excited and thrilled...on cloud nine! It has been quite an afternoon and evening. We went to our sonogram and found out we are expecting a little boy. Even better, they said everything is developing perfectly and our little boy weighs about 8 ounces at this point. We are still on target to deliver at the end of February. We have so many emotions and more things to share now that we know "it's" a "he". Our minds are spinning and overwhelmed with wonderful thoughts about decorating his room, things to buy, crafts for Mommy to make for his room and memories to make once he's here with us and in the years to come. After our appointment, we contacted lots of family and friends to share the news. We then celebrated with buying a few boy outfits (pictures to come later) and dinner. What a day! A little bit about his name...PARKER HOLT! We love it. Parker is a name that we have both loved for years. It's a name we always knew w

I am: 18 weeks pregnant Size of Baby: Baby Ussery is the size of a bell pepper Total Weight Gained: No weight gained yet ~ I still weigh about the same as I did pre-pregnancy, but I think it's redistributed a little bit. Maternity Clothes: I have a nice little maternity clothes section in my closet. This week I ordered a Dallas Cowboys maternity t-shirt. I am looking forward to getting that. My Mom (Mamaw) also sent me a couple of new things last week that are super cute for fall/winter. Thanks Mom! The top I am wearing in this picture isn't maternity, but it fits me a little loose. I am wearing this same top in my 13 week post (click here to see that picture and how I've changed in the same outfit). Gender: We will found out TUESDAY!!! If he/she cooperates during the sonogram that is...fingers crossed and prayers lifted! It's really going to get more FUN once we know if we are having a boy or girl. Name: We have our names picked out, but waiting to reveal his or

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

FALL! It's no secret that Fall is my favorite season (and John's too). It brings so many wonderful things! One of my favorite things to do every fall is decorate our house for the season. It makes the house feel cozy and festive. I have collected and made various decorations over the years that fill up two storage tubs. John got the tubs out of the attic a couple of weeks ago and I spent a couple of hours cleaning and decorating. A new addition this year is a scarecrow that was my Grammy's. I'm so glad to have it. My Mom gave it to me over the summer when we were going through some of her things. Every year I will think of Grammy when I put him out. He's sitting under the table with our family Bible on it. I also did a craft project yesterday. I bought a pumpkin at Kroger, painted it all over with glue and sprinkled glitter all over it. Once it was dry, John sprayed a sealer on it and I tied a brown bow around it. It's sitting on our island. I'll obviously h

* Please ignore my ponytail/sloppy hair * I am: 17 weeks pregnant Size of Baby: Baby Ussery is the size of an onion Total Weight Gained: No weight gained yet ~ I still weigh about the same as I did pre-pregnancy, but I think it's redistributed a little bit. I forgot to weigh this morning, so I will tomorrow. I figure it's still about the same. Maternity Clothes: I have a nice collection started. I am wearing a maternity shirt and jeans in this picture. There's a picture of the front of this shirt down below. My Mom got it for me over the summer when I was staying with her for a week. It says "Current Status - Mommy to Be". I love it! Gender: We will found out a week from tomorrow - the appointment can't get here fast enough! Several people have given their guesses as to boy or girl, so that's been fun. There's also been the question of "Would we rather have a boy or girl?" First of all, our first concern is health - as long as they are h

Cupcakes & Grandparents

Image
In honor of the NFL season kicking off last night (hip hip hooray!), I decided to make us football themed cupcakes to have for dessert after our pizza. YUM! They definitely aren't anything professional, but turned out cute and were mighty tasty. I love these mini-mixes that the Dollar Tree sells. They are only $1 and makes only 12 instead of 24. John and I certainly don't need 24 cupcakes! It was a fun, relaxing evening. We had our pizza and cupcakes and enjoyed all of the pre-game festivites as well as the game itself. What a great game...although we didn't make it through the whole game. We are looking forward to more football this weekend and the C O W B O Y S first game Sunday night! On another note, Sunday is " Grandparents Day "! While our little one is still a few months away from making their entrance into the world, we know that they will be blessed with three sets of wonderful grandparents when they make their arrival. Our parents have all been grandpa
