The Ussery Update

Parker Holt, you are six months old! Without our permission you have turned half a year old. You went from this newborn babe in the hospital...  To this one month old...  To this two month old...  To this three month old...  To this four month old....  To this five month old... To this six month old... You will have your six month check-up on Tuesday so we will know at that time how much you weigh and how long you are.  Based on a Mommy estimation, you are probably between 16-17 pounds and between 26-27" long, but we will see what Dr. Rester says on Tuesday. You have been wearing size 2 diapers, but once we finish this package, we are bumping you up to size 3 diapers.  The size 2 diapers are starting to get a bit snug. You are wearing mostly 6 month clothing and working your way into 6-9 month clothing. There are a handful of 3-6 month items that still fit, but very few. You eat about 5 times a day...about every 3 1/2 hours.  Due to various r

I took these pictures on the Friday of the Opening Ceremonies for the Olympics (July 27th) .  I thought it would be fun for Parker to sport a patriotic outfit in support of Team USA.  We have really enjoyed watching the Olympics and hate to see them end.  Parker's had fun watching them too.  So far the swimming and gymnastics have grabbed his attention the most.  Perhaps I will take a picture of Parker when the next Olympics happen in 2014 and compare these pictures - how cool that will be.  The Winter Olympics 2014 are in Sochi, Russia.  Something pretty neat about that is I looked up the dates and they end on what will be his 2nd birthday. Wow - hard to imagine that!       Saturday night, the three of us went for a family night out.  We went to dinner,  did some shopping at Target and ending the evening with yummy ice cream.  It was a fun date night out with Parker as our chaperone. He played with some toys in his carrier while we ate, but slept through the ice cream. John h

To this five month old...     Based on an at home estimation/experiment, you weigh roughly 14 pounds and  6 ounces and are 26 1/2" long.  You don't have a doctor's appointment this month, but will have your 6-month check-up on August 28th.  We will get more accurate measurements then. You are still wearing size 2 diapers and 3-6 month or 6 month clothing, mostly 6 months.  It won't be long before you are in the next size of diapers and clothes.  You are a growing boy indeed.  You eat about 5-6 times a day, every 3-4 hours ~ breastfeeding and formula.  We haven't started you on food yet, but we plan to in the coming weeks.  Mommy is hoping to make as much of your food as possible.  We will see how that works out.  No teeth yet, but we expect them a
